Oooooopsie!

Oops, Obama pulls a Biden!
Newsmax reports: Appearing on "The Tonight Show," the president told host Jay Leno he'd been practicing at the White House's bowling alley but wasn't happy with his score of 129. The he rolled a gutter ball by quipping: "It was like the Special Olympics or something."

The audience laughed, but the White House quickly recognized the blunder.
On his way back to Washington on Air Force One, Obama called the chairman of the Special Olympics, Tim Shriver, to say he was sorry even before the taped program aired late Thursday night.

"He expressed his disappointed and he apologized in a way that was very moving. He expressed that he did not intend to humiliate this population," Shriver said Friday on ABC's "Good Morning America." Obama, Shriver said, wants to have some Special Olympic athletes visit the White House to bowl or play basketball. (Too little, too late Obama)

Still, Shriver said, "I think it's important to see that words hurt and words do matter. And these words that in some respect can be seem as humiliating or a put down to people with special needs do cause pain and they do result in stereotypes."

Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton told reporters traveling with Obama that the president's offhand remark was not meant to disparage the Special Olympics, only to poke some fun at the commander-in-chief's bowling skills.

"He thinks that the Special Olympics are a wonderful program that gives an opportunity to shine to people with disabilities from around the world," Burton said.

Despite making fun of his score, the president appears to be getting better the more he visits the White House lanes, which President Truman installed in 1947. During a campaign photo op a year ago at a bowling alley in Altoona, Pa., he rolled only a 37 in seven frames. The clip of the disastrous game was replayed on late night television shows such as Leno's _ one of Obama's few campaign gaffes. (Not counting the 57 states comment). hehe

George W. Bush‘s first post-presidency speech was closed to the press but some choice quotes have now made it out of the room, including Mr. Bush‘s first description of the book he‘s writing. He said, quote, “I‘m going to put people in my place so when the history of this administration is written, at least there‘s an authoritarian voice saying exactly what happened.”

Authoritarian? lol.

Obama immediately knew he had misspoken and called the head of Special Olympics Tim Shriver of the Shrivers who virtually created Special Olympics and apologized....and while not the best way to have expressed himself-something anyone might have said, Obama had the sensitivity to correct the record immediately. In substandce, his Stim /recovery package gives billions to special education and is a true indicator of Obama putting the money where his mouth is. The right's phony indignation including Sara Palin's is laughable. These folks are blindly looking for an ass upon which to pin their tail. They have NO Strategies, plans, vision, or even constructive suggestions to add to the national dialogue and are instead, relegated to their marginalized role of throwing spitballs at any minor gaffe they can grasp. Predatory Hyenas. No wonder America repudiated them.

I bet I know who Tim Shriver voted for. He so easily dismissed the "blunder", claiming that the apology was "very moving". WHATEVER! His followers will never see any wrong in what he says or does.

Aren't you righties the least bit embarrassed about trying to make hay of such insignificant non-policy slips of the tongue? So lil'sporty what do you think...maybe Obama should have been impeached for his indelicate self-effacing commentary on his lack of bowling acumen? You gopers once again show your pettiness, and irrelevance as you scrape and scrounge around for something with which to make Obama look bad... your nonsense isn't sticking. Americans know the difference between misspeaking and evil intent.

Diana- Republican GOV. Arnold Swarzenegger was on Meet the Press today. He is integrally tied into the Special Olympics by family (Married to Maria Shriver whose parents started Special Oympics)I have personally seen him attend these events. Swarzenegger vehemently defended OBAMA saying he had been talking to Obama about his committment to Special Olympics months ago and knows that Obama is a huge supporter of the Special Olympics. He dismissed criticism of Obama claiming critics don't know what they're talking about...I think he meant YOU and your ilk that are looking for a cause. Try again.

sep... sorry dude I don't care if Jesus Christ defends Obama, he said it and it was heartless.

He should watch what he says. BTW Arnold sleeps with a Shriver... give me a break.
