Nothing but the finest....for our friends in DC!

The Marriot in Copenhagen!
Nothing but the BEST for our government officials.  I know that over the past year we have all tightened our belts and rethought our budgets.  Companies everywhere have cut back budgets. One of the biggest and quickest and maybe most cost effective is cutting travel budgets for employees.  But nooooooooo, not for this administration.

The recent Copenhagen Climate Summit is a perfect example of this administration exhibiting no sense of cutting back on the federal budget.  Recently the "group expense" report was submitted by no other than our favorite Ms. Pelosi!

Ms. Pelosi submitted the group expense report but would not talk about it when a CBS producer tried to ask her.  Our delegation stayed at the 5 star Marriot Copenhagen at the tune of $2200.00 per day per person.  Total hotel, meeting rooms and "a couple" of $1,000-a-night hospitality suites topped $400,000.

Wow, almost half a million buckaroo's!  Flights weren't cheap, either. Fifty-nine House and Senate staff flew commercial during the Copenhagen rush. They paid government rates -- $5-10,000 each -- totaling $408,064. Add three military jets -- $168,351 just for flight time -- and the bill tops $1.1 million dollars -- not including all the Obama administration officials who attended: well over 60. (oh... and even though some only stayed 2 nights...they were charged a 5 night minimum stay).  Hotels charge for a 5 day minimum?  Since when?

It took 59 house and senate staff and well over 60 obama administration officials to attend a climate summit?  I believe CBS defined the 165 delegation as a "super sized" delegation.  And golly oh gee whiz.

Good thing Obama called for a spending freeze yesterday!

I think it's too funny that Obama looked down upon the "Big 3" carmakers when they arrived in Washington in a private jet...but obviously didn't blink an eye at spending $2200.00 per night staying in the most expensive hotel...for 165 people.  What? you want to argue that the Big 3 are going broke.... haha so is the US Govt.  Hmmmmm
