Obama's.... "CASH FOR CLUNKERS"I remember as part of the stimulus plan... the republicans tried to add a program where every American who would purchase a new car in 2009 would get a rebate of $7,500.
The dems took it out of the stimulus and said no no no! Oh my so in Obama's usual style, he takes the republican idea of giving money to Americans for cars....and decides to give $4500 to Americans who turn in their high mileage gas eating machines for a newer model with better gas mileage.
OOps he didn't plan well enough... the program was closed as the funds ran out in less than a week. Wow maybe had the democrats allowed the republican program to remain in the stimulus Americans across the country could be driving new cars with great gas mileage.

The program ran out of money because it was so successful- dummy. As a result, Ford sold over 250,000 cars...and Americans Love this program...Once again Diana- you show your ignorance and predisposition toward tearing down any and all positive developments.... Does this person know that each check the Govt writes for $4500, its costing us the tax payer $6000 ( per a study by Lurita Doan the former Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration.) The LIBS dont understand that this money comes for the taxpayers, its NOT just pulled out of thin air.......We will all be miserable when this Socialist has bankrupted out nation with his socialist programs~! :) Rose Brooks

Posting without knowing the facts makes you the "moron" with one of the most disturbing parts of the Clunker program is that the recipient of the $4,500 doesn't need to provide a Social Security number. So, it is possible for illegal immigrants, as well as resourceful folks from Canada and Mexico, to cross our borders, trade in their clunkers, and get American taxpayer dollars. Also, let me point out that they also took out "American" cars and the top sale is the Toyota Motor Co. Toyota had two other passenger cars, the Prius hybrid and the Camry, in the top five. The Honda Motor Co Civic was No. 3.
