Lindsey Graham.... Woo hoo

Wow, that Lindsey Graham is something else. I watched him earlier today on George (Oh he's hot) Stephanopoulos. I love how Lindsey Graham cuts to the chase!

As always there were two dems, and two republicans at the round table with George this morning. That silly Chuck Schummer who needs to get a personality was there with Cong. Walters from California (talk about someone who can not have an intelligent conversation). Ok enough about the dems. I truly enjoyed listening to Lindsey.

Like I mentioned earlier he cuts to the chase. My favorite thing he said this morning when George asked about the bipartisanship in this bill was "If this is bipartisanship then this country is screwed". I laughed out loud, he is so RIGHT ON! George of course had to chuckle.

And I believe Lindsey was right on when he was defining the stimulus bill "We increased new government, we did not increase new jobs". Very well said Lindsey! Lindsey went further to describe how this stimulus bill has been designed:

  1. 11% of this bill will be spent in 2009. (WAIT... how is that going to help our economy during this recession which typically lasts 18 -24 months, if all this spending is to stimulate our economy?)
  2. The majority of the bill is entitlement spending which will not create jobs.
  3. 27% of the bill is tax cuts. Only $3 billion of the $787 billion bill goes to small businesses. (now this is confusing, since 75% of Americans work for small businesses, and this bill is designed to stimulate the economy, shouldn't we be putting more money from this bill into small businesses?)

Senator King (R) from New York went further to state: "And, you know, obviously, we have to do a lot. I supported strong infrastructure, strong tax relief. We didn't do it. And that's why you have people even like Alice Rivlin, who was Bill Clinton's budget director, testified against the stimulus bill, Martin Feldstein, who had -- had been for it is now against it, and the CBO says, over a 10-year period, it's going to diminish the economy, bring down the GDP, and actually cause a reduction in wages."

I love Lindsey Graham... that man can say more in a few words than this stimulus said in 1100 pages! Go Lindsey!!!

Bob Herbert, New York Times columnist, had the best comment about Lindsey Graham's moronic grandstanding rhetoric surrounding the Stim Package..." Graham wanted to make sure no one confused him for a class act".

No fear there Bob. Let Republicans keep their straw men and whiny self-serving rhetoric. Obama is going to lead us out of the Bush cesspool regardless of their dog-eared noise.
