circle jerk seen in a long while- some Right wing blog posts a bogus caption on this shot (the whole shot reveals Obama navigating stairs and not at all perusing that nubile masterpiece crossing his path) claiming that Obama was ogling this young lady's behind...Of course Drudge got in the act and the whole thing ricocheted abound the right wing echo chamber like a bad fever. Since two GOP presidential hopefuls were both caught in a web of infidelity and lies, the right is dying to find anything-ANYTHING that will take the heat off of their hypocrite phony family values champions. Republicans have no shame and only pretend to have class.

Drudge subsequently included a link to Tapper's blog post with the headline "ABCNEWS: NO HE DIDN'T ..."
A classic example of how the right-wing noise machine works was unfolding before the American people. A non-story starts on a right-wing website and works its way into the mainstream. It usually involves Drudge, the fedora-wearing boy who cries wolf (almost daily) on the Internet, and mainstream news outlets follow his lead, offering up under-researched and factually inaccurate story lines.
Had the mainstream media done their job -- you know, checking the video to get the context from which the photo was taken -- they would have clearly seen that Obama was attempting to navigate high steps, while reaching back to help someone behind him do so as well. As Fox News host Greta Van Susteren said after airing video of the event, "Yes, a still picture can lie. And this one does."
Of course, the next morning after Van Susteren's show, the Fox & Friends crew went right back to trashing the president with lascivious speculation that was contradicted by easily accessible fact.
Michael Moore's 'Sicko' on T.V. Tonight

The Movie Channel, this evening, will be airing the Oscar-nominated documentary, "Sicko," Michael Moore's film about a villain known as the health insurance industry. With the debate raging in Washington, D.C. -- Republicans trying to scuttle it, the President trying to hang on to his public option, and nearly a hundred members of Congress pushing for a single-payer system -- showing "Sicko" tonight is very timely. Mike lays out all the facts and the arguments as to why the private insurance companies are never going to side with what's best for the American people.
"Sicko" airs on The Movie Channel tonight at 8:00 PM. It's also scheduled to air on The Movie Channel on July 27th at 4:05 PM and on TMC Xtra on August 2nd at 10:45 PM and August 5th at 2:15 AM and 7:30 AM. Click here for showtimes.
